The Family Program

Addiction doesn’t just affect the person who is drinking or using drugs, it affects all those that are close to that person. Emotionally, physically, financially, the toll can be significant. All too often loved ones are overwhelmed feeling confused, angry, fearful and unsure as to what to do or how to handle their particular situation.

The Family Program at Maynord’s Recovery Center is specifically geared for the special needs of parents, family members, and significant others of drug and alcohol addicts. The expressed intent of the program is, not only to assist the family in dealing with the various stressors of addiction, but to empower the family or loved to be a force for healing and recovery. It is the position of Maynord’s that the family plays a crucial role in one’s healing process and we want the family to be the best they can be, and learn to use the tools of recovery for themselves. We suggest you get involved in Alanon, Alateen or any type of support that fits your needs

The Family Program addresses a variety of topics and issues such as:

  • Understanding addiction and recovery

  • Becoming proficient at emotions and feelings

  • Helping vs. enabling

  • Understanding Maynord’s Recovery Center role in suggesting referrals and our continuing care

  • The role of the family in the healing process

  • Codependency and interdependency

You are not alone.
