When at the end of the road we find that we can no longer function as a human being, either with or without drugs, we all face the same dilemma. What is there left to do?(Basic Text pg.84) At this point in my life I had no idea what recovery was or what it would offer. Life without drugs was not appealing to me. I went to Maynords completely broken and felt like I had tried everything to manage my using. I was ready to take suggestions. I got a sponsor, began working steps, became of service to the program and the newcomer, and began to apply the traditions to my life. Today I have 35 months clean, I am employed, have loving relationships, and a level of gratitude I never imagined possible. When the road gets rough I just don't use, NO MATTER WHAT!
