Since 1978, Maynord's Recovery Centers has helped thousands of people regain control of their lives. Maynord’s recovery center provides intensive residential, sub acute detoxification, and Day treatment program. Treatment settings are for adult men and women suffering from the disease of addiction. This philosophy, and many years of experience adheres to a belief that alcoholism and drug dependence are complex problems and a primary illness. As a primary illness, the person afflicted suffers psychologically, physically, and socially, it is progressive by nature. This progression is demonstrated in not only the compulsive use of Drugs and/or Alcohol to the point of physical dependence, but also in the development of a set of beliefs, feelings, behaviors and relationship dynamics that destroy trust and undermine a sense of safety and security in oneself and ones experience in Life. Treatment therefore involves becoming abstinent from the physical influence of Drugs and/or Alcohol. Examining the physical, psychological, emotional, behavioral, and interpersonal consequences of the addictive process and developing the recovery tools that support the remission process from the disease. The disease concept is that the addicted persons progressive nature of the disease happens over time, and therefore recovery from that progressive disease process also happens over time and through various levels of care: it is a process not an event. A large part of this process is to then develop a set of recovery tools through individual counseling, group counseling, chemical depedency education, and peer support which include bridges from treatment into 12 step community support meetings and a strong Continuing care plan outside the safety of the treatment program. The Continuing Care Plan creates long term goals toward physical, psychological and social recovery activities for life. A supportive environment for these activities is essential. We strongly encourage participation in 12-Step Recovery programs or other programs that support client's progress and growth. These programs enhance one's knowledge of the addiction process and help one remain conscious of his or her recovery needs. These programs also support one's faith and improve one's social support for living a free and full life without the use of Drugs and/or Alcohol.

Maynord's program meets the needs of a variety of clients, whether the issue is a positive drug test at work, family problems, financial problems. Our facility is located on a beautiful 22 acre ranch nestled in the peaceful serene sierra foot hills nine miles from Sonora, California, in the historic Mother Lode, one hour away from Yosemite National Park. Maynord's is able to provide transportation for treatment from many areas throughout California, Nevada, Utah and Arizona.
